Q: When will Level X be competing?
A: We will not have a final session schedule until after we have received all registrations from gymnasts. Because registration does not open until the end of February, it will take some time before a session schedule can be finalized. The quicker turn around we have on receiving registration information, the sooner this schedule will be available.
Q: Why do we need a hard copy of our Insurance? In the past we never had to…
We understand that requiring a hard copy of your Certificate of Liability Insurance is different from last years procedure, however, we are requiring that you send this in. There have been issues with Insurance in the past and by having a hard copy, we will avoid those issues and delays that may occur. Please list the YMCA of San Diego County on this form.
Q: Do coaches with seniors get a ticket to the senior reception?
No, coaches will not be issued a ticket. The senior will be issued two tickets, one for themselves and one for a guest. Any additional tickets must be purchased in advance no later than April 30th.
Q: I can't change anything online. Am I doing something wrong?
Be sure that you are clicking the "Click to Update" button at the bottom left of the page after making any changes or nothing will be saved!
Q: Where will the 2011 Y Nationals Competition be held?
A: We don't know yet, but we will let you know when we do!
Q: Where is the event being held?
A: The Town and Country Resort and Convention Center.
Q: How much will tickets to individual sessions cost?
A: Daily tickets will be available, however, no price has been determined yet. We encourage the purchase of three day passes in advance to assure entrance in case we reach capacity.
Q: Will there be transportation to and from Sea World?
A: We will provide buses to and From Sea World on the day of opening ceremonies at a nominal fee (TBD). This service is available to all gymnasts, coaches, and spectators.
Q: My YMCA isn’t attending Nationals, but I still want to. Can I go with another team?
A: Yes, but you must approach the other team and they must be willing to coach you. You must also send in all necessary paperwork for your YMCA and receive the roster signature to state you are in good standing with your YMCA. You must also show the YMCA certificate of insurance and a note from your coach that you will be competing with X team. In the end, you will be responsible for making sure you are placed in the right session with your adoptive team when scheduling.
Q: Can you recommend X hotel?
A: We can only recommend the Town & Country, the Marriot Courtyard, and the Doubletree as they are the only hotels Okayed through the YUSA. Any other hotel in the area, you must use your best judgment and resources available to you.
Q: Do I have to rent a car to get around San Diego?
A: Renting a car will give you great flexibility in your travels, but it is absolutely not necessary when getting around San Diego. We have trolleys and buses available all over San Diego. Please visit http://www.sdcommute.com/ for information on time tables, prices, and help mapping out your journeys.
Q: I haven’t received my registration packet yet, did I miss something?
A: We will send out all information regarding registration towards the end of February. Please be patient and know that we haven’t left you out!
Q: Can I send in registrations for my gymnasts as they qualify or would you prefer all entries be sent in together?
A: It will be much easier for everyone involved if you send in all registration information together.
Q: When will certain sessions fill up?
A: Unfortunately, we do not have this information as we have no way of knowing when and who will register at what time. We can promise that we will update coaches frequently if certain sessions look as though they are close to filling up. We will ensure plenty of time for you to get your registration material in. We do not anticipate that many sessions will fill up as we have a very large facility to accommodate a large number of gymnasts.
